What We Are Learning About - Spring 2

In Religion, through the topic of Galilee to Jerusalem we will be looking at the parables of the Mustard Seed and the Sower. The children will also listen to and read about some miracles that Jesus performed and what they were teaching us.

Maths

In Maths, our topic this term is Multiplication and Division. The children will be looking at how to multiply a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number and how sometimes we need to exchange but that there are other times that we don't. In year 3 we pay particular focus to the the 3s, 4s and 8s.

 History

In History, we will be learning about the Bronze and Iron Age. The children will find out about how they lived during this time period and how things changed from the Stone Age.

What You Need to Know

Please send your child in their PE kit on the days they do PE. For Y3K this will be on a Monday and a Thursday. For Y3A it will be on a Monday and a Wednesday.

PE kit is a plain white t-shirt with dark trainers or pumps, and blue or black shorts. Plain black or blue tracksuit bottoms may be worn in the winter.

Homework will be given on Fridays to reflect the week’s learning, in Maths, spellings and handwriting. We recommend spending no more than 20 - 30 minutes on homework per night. Children will also practise spellings and take part in the Grand Spell each week.

Please check this page regularly as we will be posting updates on there as well as the school website.

Please make sure that aside from completing homework, your child is reading for a minimum of 10 minutes every night. If you have any concerns about your child’s homework, please speak to Mrs Coyle or Mr Kendrick
