Christ The King RC Primary School

Pupil and Family Support Co-ordinator

Hello! My name is Mrs. Wolfenden, and I am delighted to introduce myself as the Pupil and Family Support Coordinator here at Christ the King R.C. Primary School. With many years of experience in pastoral care in both secondary and primary schools, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my role. As a mother of two young adults, I understand the challenges and joys of parenting, allowing me to empathise and connect with families on a personal level.

My goal is to offer practical help and support to children and their families, no matter the issue or situation. I aim to assist as many families as possible in accessing a wide range of support services. While I may not have all the answers, I am committed to exploring options and gathering information to provide the best support tailored to your needs. You can find some of these services detailed below.

Since working at Christ the King, I have built strong, positive relationships with many children. My role allows me to work closely with those who may need extra support in becoming more resilient, regulating their emotions, building friendships or boosting their confidence and self-esteem.

I am part of the Safeguarding Team, and the safety of children and families is paramount in all I do. I am trained in various therapeutic interventions focused on enhancing the social and emotional well-being of children and young people. This training enables me to identify and access the appropriate support each child may need and provide strategies and guidance. I also hold a foundation degree in Trauma-Informed Practice.

Please note that I am not the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo). The SENCo at our school is Mrs. Holroyd, and she is responsible for overseeing the provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. If you believe your child would benefit from additional support, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Holroyd.

I am available in school to provide support, advice and guidance to children and families. Rest assured, all advice and support is confidential, although any concerns regarding child safeguarding will be addressed in accordance with the school's Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.

I look forward to working with you and supporting your family!
