EYFS Computing
At Christ the King, the Early Years Computing areas of learning are taken from the EYFS statutory framework and the Development Matters. Computing teaching and provisions link to the statements from the following areas: Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design. Throughout the Early Years we use the scheme of Learning, Purple Mash to provide opportunities for the children to develop fundamental skills using the Mini Mash programme.
Texts
E-Safety
In Early Years at Christ the King, we introduce key concepts on E-Safety to equip children with the skill set to stay online. We use 'Education for a Connected World' and 'Project Evolve' to support and inform our teaching and learning.
At home, it is important to protect your children and ensure that the content they are exposed to is appropriate for their age range. Click here for a link to a useful document with guidance to help keep your child safe at home.
Nursery
In Nursery, the children are exposed to and explore the IWB, iPads, story books related to e-safety and a variety of toys.
Reception
In Reception, we build on the provision the children are exposed to and explore in Nursery by introducing Computers and Bee-bots.
